Welcome to the International Ministries Department of Unity Worldwide Ministries
Who We Are
The Five Basic Unity Principles
These ancient universal principles taught by Unity offer foundational guidance for living abundantly and staying in tune with your own divine nature.
1. There is only one Presence and one Power active as the universe and as my life, God the Good.
2. Our essence is of God; therefore, we are inherently good. This God essence, called the Christ, was fully expressed in Jesus.
3. We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind.
4. Through prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God. Denials and affirmations are tools we use.
5. Through thoughts, words and actions, we live the Truth we know.
Our Teachings
Unity teaches that each person is a unique expression of God created with sacred value. Living from consciousness transforms our lives and the world.
Unity emphasizes the creative power of thought in our experience of life. We refer to this as the law of mental Action. When we take personal responsibility for choosing life-affirming thoughts, words and actions we live a fuller life.
Unity emphasizes the importance of applying spiritual principles to our daily lives. Unity's teachings continue to evolve as we identify, embrace and apply the spiritual insights and implications of new discoveries.
We are an association that includes Unity ministries, their leaders and congregants, our regions, our Associations of Unity Leaders and our National Schools. Together we provide practical teachings to help people live healthy, prosperous and meaningful lives.
Vision
A world powerfully transformed through the growing movement of shared spiritual awakening.
Mission
Advancing the movement of spiritual awakening and transformation through Unity, a positive path for spiritual living.
Purpose
Develop, equip, and support Unity leaders and communities to grow in innovative, sustainable, and cutting-edge ways.
Values
Supportive - Seeking to find what is needed and filling that need.
Inclusive - Creating an environment that fosters a culture of trust, respect, and belonging.
Resourceful - Finding the workable way forward with creative solutions.

"The key to success is to focus on your goals, not your obstacles"
~ Charles Fillmore, Cofounder of Unity
"The value of all service lies in the spirit in which you serve and not in the importance or magnitude of the service. Even the lowliest task or deed is made holy, joyous, and prosperous when it is filled with love."
~ Charles Fillmore, Cofounder of Unity
"If we love the Truth, we are not afraid. We are bold to put out into the sea of faith."
~ Myrtle Fillmore, Cofounder of Unity
Ready to Sponsor a Unity Student in Africa?
Did you know we have Unity students from around the world who reach out to UWM for assistance with the cost of education? Many of these students come from impoverished areas where a laptop is out of the question, and even the cost of Unity books could mean having to skip meals.
Historically we have done what we can, but a more effective solution has come from conversations with our International Advisory Council. That solution is an invitation for an individual or ministry to directly sponsor an international student. We have partnered with Rev. Helen Wilcox-Evwaraye and Christ Light Global Ministry and the Unity National School in the United Kingdom to support these students in their Unity journey.
How to Sponsor an International Student
- Please read our student's Unity Story where you will find information about our students and the cost of the program.
- If interested, please email Claudia Maltos Young in the International Ministries Department with any additional questions.
- The sponsorship commitment is for three years which is the duration of the International Ministerial Path. Approved students understand that their sponsorship is for three years.
- Once this process begins, UWM will be there with continued support should further questions arise.
- One more way to support our students is by donating Unity books. If you are interested in donating books, please contact Rev. Helen Wilcox-Evwaraye.

CEUs for Ministers, Spiritual Leaders, and Licensed Unity Teachers
Continuous learning and development are essential for ministry professionals in an evolving and rapidly changing world. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are our opportunity to embrace a learning mindset, deepen our skills in community and interpersonal relationships, and remain on our growing edge. Unity Worldwide Ministries supports this through CEU requirements for Unity ministers, spiritual leaders, and licensed Unity teachers (LUTs).
Report CEUs
On the credentialed leaders form, you can list your completed CEUs. Links to our online annual report form for credentialed leaders were sent to the main email we have on file for you. Reminders were sent in January, February, and March. If you change your main email address or other contact information, please notify us of the updated address.
Please keep accurate records, including receipts/certificates/objectives from your courses. Should a question arise, UWM may ask you to provide us with copies of these documents. It is no longer necessary to obtain approval for courses you are using for CEUs. We are trusting our leaders to make choices that best support them in serving with excellence.
The intention of CEUs
is to enhance our ministry skills. We all learn and grow through reading, studying, and watching videos. However, ministry is relationship-based, and our learning is augmented through interactions with others. Consequently, leaders are strongly encouraged to select training and courses for obtaining CEUs.

Unity Branding Program
The Unity Brand Program is the program we have developed to help our ministries and ministers "speak with one voice" for our Unity movement. Through language, logos and branding materials we can be seen as one voice around the world.
To continue to improve our Branding Program, we have just released our new updated Branding Manual with additional tools such as a broader color palette for the design of promotional materials, as well as additional resources for free photographs and images. This program is available and free to our international ministries and ministers.
To learn more about this program check out our Branding Manual or send us an email at internationalministries@unity.org
UMM Membership & Service Model
Purpose: To clarify the relationship between UMM and its members, as well as to establish a mutually beneficial working relationship.
Scope: This policy applies to Licensed Ministers, Ordained Ministers, Licensed Teachers, and all Unity Ministries within the U.S.
Policy: UMM has two types of members:
- Leader - Licensed Minister, Ordained Minister, or Unity Licensed Teacher in good standing.
- Ministry - An approved and well-maintained UMM ministry.
- For more information, please read the Membership and Service Model Policy
The UWM Code of Ethics for Unity Leaders and Code of Ethics for Unity Ministries articulates a vision of ethical behavior grounded in our beliefs and teachings. Its purpose is to provide guidelines for behavior that is both ethical and authentic.
Sexual Conduct Policy addresses the issue of sexual misconduct by a Unity credentialed leader. The policy also specifies procedures by which a Unity credentialed leader can ethically transition a pastoral relationship into a personal or romantic relationship.
Social Media Policy. We commit to direct and compassionate communication and support Unity leaders and ministries to engage in positive public discourse.
See the Ethics page for more resources relating to ethics issues.
This manual is about breathing into the places in spiritual community in which we might feel uneasy, defensive and vulnerable. It is about making our spiritual principles and ideals come alive in our midst.
It is meant to support us in being fully present with one another, and working consciously and interdependently with one another in all aspects of community life.
It provides guidance that allows ministers, boards and ministry members to work collaboratively in serving a common purpose, tapping the collective intelligence of the community, and unleashing the potential of the ministry.
